This funding is for non-clinical staff of eligible Indigenous Health Organisations to undertake training or higher education courses which are longer than six months.

Funding is allocated to individuals only, through periodical funding rounds. See our news page to find out when the next funding round opens and closes.

Am I eligible?

You are likely to be eligible for the Long Term funding stream of TDS if:

  • You are a non-clinical staff member of an eligible Indigenous Health Organisation, or a clinical staff member transitioning into a non-clinical role
  • The course you have selected targets one or more of the key knowledge/skills/competency bases identified by the TDS
  • You have been employed in the same position with an OATSIH funded health organisation for no less than six months and have a current performance or career plan that is consistent with the selected course

What kind of courses does the TDS Long Term stream cover?

You may apply for funding to undertake higher education or training sector courses that are:

  • between Certificate IV and Masters Degree level
  • Accredited under the Australian Qualifications Framework
  • Targeted at one or more of the key knowledge/skills/competency bases identified by the TDS

The funding covers course fees, learning resources, tutorial assistance and reasonable travel costs.
