What are ‘reasonable travel costs?’ PDF Print E-mail
For the purposes of this funding, reasonable travel costs are defined as travel costs associated with higher education or training in instances where:

  • The subsequent course selected is in the nearest, most cost effective geographical location for travel purposes; and/or
  • Overnight accommodation is required to enable the participant to attend classes or other activities related to the selected course

Travel Assistance will be paid directly to the successful applicant and may not be used for any purpose other than identified above.

Daily rates will be made available to the successful applicant, determined by the Administrator.
If the travel allowance exceeds $300 per annum, the expenditure must be acquitted to the Administrator.

Calculation of travel rate (Long Term only)

The Application form requires applicants to complete a travel plan which includes a breakdown of the travel required for successful completion of the course.
Further information about travel costs and Travel Allowance rates can be found in the TDS Funding Guidelines
